OOTD

My outfit today is inspired primarily by good old Great Britain and the Olympics. The opening ceremony was a few days ago and everyone is getting very patriotic and as I’m not keen on sports I thought mine was better put into an outfit! Now I didn’t want to go the whole hog and go around with flags painted on my face but I decided to incorporate our flag colours into my outfit! So I went for a blue tennis style skirt (thought it was fitting with the sport reference!), a plain white vest top and a bright red leather handbag. I then finished it off with my brown leather jacket, just because it was colder than I expected! Finally a long gold clock necklace to finish the whole thing off.

Starry Sky Nails

Another nail blog today. I have been very intrigued by these nail wraps that are appearing all over the market and have wondered what there like. Now these are the first I’ve tried and there a cheap version I found in my local supersaver (budget versions can be found in most pound/discount stores). And I think there brilliant. A little fiddly at first but after the first two the really were quite easy to apply, stick on, then trim down and fold the excess over the nail. Now I will say this one thing and that is if your nails are very short I might not recommend. One of my nails is very short at the moment (due to a traigic break hehe) and I did find it a little difficult to cut it to the right shape and you can’t really fold them over short nails. But overall really good, no waiting for them to dry and no constant worrying about them flicking off like you get with fake nails or varnish. Not to mention the detail you can get from a sticker compared with the effort of watching a youtube tutorial and trying to create patterns with a cocktail stick! I went for a starry pattern that reminds me a bit of something Jessie J would wear! So overall I really reccomend these and think I'll try another set, I'll let you know how I get on!

Peel, stick, cut and go!

Shopping, Sushi and Smoothies

I must stop spending! Another haul, I only went in for lunch and came back with 40 quid’s worth! Dearie me I’ll be bankrupt if I’m not careful. But anyway thought I’d make use of it and at least blog about it. Now I got mainly make-up, my most exciting purchase was a brush set from naito (one of my favourite brands of the moment); I got it on sale for £13 reduced from £20. It was recommended by the very friendly manager in Debenhams who saw I was looking for brushes. I also got a baggy punk style top, a green fitted skirt, 3 nails varnishes (with a pound off thanks to look magazines voucher for hot looks nail varnish by collection), a mascara (Rimmel’s new formula), fake eyelashes and a pair of flip flops (only £2 in the HandM sale). But that wasn’t quite the end of my haul, I finished off my day by grabbing a yo sushi picnic box (ten pounds and really tasty!), a strawberry and banana smoothie and a lush blueberry cupcake from my local coffee bean. A great day despite the spending and I think shopping and sushi should be given as a prescription for stress! Well it would certainly de-stress me hehe

ASOS HAUL!!!

So I planned on having this post out quite a while ago but I never got around to taking the photos so it has been sat in my drafts for too long and thought I’d finally post it today. I did a fairly large order off the Asos sale and there was just so much I wanted I had to try my best to limit myself slightly, there were just so many bargains I did struggle! But I thought I’d tell you all what I bought with a few photos. I did buy the lace gloves I was in love with when I last blogged about Asos and in truth I doubt I’ll ever wear them but there so soft and pretty I can’t bear to send them back! There a great vintage looking accessory as well I think they'd be great for a fancy garden party or maybe a summer wedding so you never know maybe I will be able to wear them! I also bought two pairs of shorts, one an orange tweed style that look great with nude heels and one pair for the beach which are black and extremely high leg. A duck egg blue skirt with a gingerbread man print, in my ootd post (I wore it the day I got it, thought it was so cute and as I love baking very apt), and floral kimono/blazer which I was apprehensive about but love now it’s arrived (also in my an OOTD post a great sort of summery throw over for when it’s not that warm but you still want something bright and pretty), a gold/cream jumper to keep for the colder months and a gorgeous teal blue cut out playsuit which I am going to save for my holiday! And I think that’s everything but if I have forgotten anything ill have a little edit to the post and that’s all for now, blog soon!

Beach OOTD

What with the gorgeous weather we’ve been having recently we can finally get out our summer clothes! And as the weather is supposed to revert back to the British usual of rain by the end of the week it doesn’t seem like we’ll have long to get them out for! So here’s my little summer OOTD for when I went to the beach. I wore I purple skater dress from Topshop (£15), my new floral kimono from Asos and gold flowery flip flops from accessorise last year. A very simple outfit but I think it works well, I added gold bangles and dangly earrings to finish it off.

Ps please ignore my vacant expression in this pic!

Rimmel Pro

Ok a fairly quick review tonight as I’m shattered from a day at the beach and a bit of a rave review at that. I absolutely love my new nail polish! It’s a Rimmel Lycra pro in ultra violet. I found the application process very quick, good brush (always love the Rimmel nail polish brushes there the perfect size and shape) and fairly quick drying, this coming from an extremely impatient person! And as I did my nails the night before a beach trip I thought it would be the perfect test time as it would have to contend with heat, sea and sand, not to mention the shower after a beach trip! And surprisingly it hasn’t chipped at all! I do have a base and top coat on but still has held on brilliantly, I took the picture below after I had put it through the mill a bit so you can see how well it's lasted. Big love for this varnish, think I’ll definitely be out buying some more colours – maybe a coral. . .

Oh ps. you can buy them at boots and there about five pounds :)
