Hot Looks Nails

Just a quick little review today. I recently bought three new nail varnishes called hot looks from collection 2000 (now collection) and they each cost £1.79 so I wasn’t expecting great things, just one day of colour after building it up with 3/4 coats. How wrong I was! These little varnishes actually lasted me about three days which isn’t awfully long but for the price I was pleased (especially as I change colour every couple of days). They were also surprisingly pigmented so only two coats need and very quick drying! These are great for those on a budget and there’s a big range of colours; I went for hip hop (orange), show off (metallic blue) and Parma violets (purple).
(For pictures of the colours on my nails they’ll be appearing on my tumblr)

Rimmel Pro

Ok a fairly quick review tonight as I’m shattered from a day at the beach and a bit of a rave review at that. I absolutely love my new nail polish! It’s a Rimmel Lycra pro in ultra violet. I found the application process very quick, good brush (always love the Rimmel nail polish brushes there the perfect size and shape) and fairly quick drying, this coming from an extremely impatient person! And as I did my nails the night before a beach trip I thought it would be the perfect test time as it would have to contend with heat, sea and sand, not to mention the shower after a beach trip! And surprisingly it hasn’t chipped at all! I do have a base and top coat on but still has held on brilliantly, I took the picture below after I had put it through the mill a bit so you can see how well it's lasted. Big love for this varnish, think I’ll definitely be out buying some more colours – maybe a coral. . .

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Review

As promised here is my more in depth review on the new(ish) Bourjois nail polish remover. Now overall I really like this product and I would buy it again, I love that I don’t need cotton pads and it is quick (not quite the one second that is says on the tin though). However there are a few draw backs. The first one is that you can’t really remove toe nail polish with it (very awkward sticking each toe in individually I must say)! Which isn’t a massive problem but it is a tad annoying to have to buy two products one for nails and one for toes when one would easily suffice. And secondly is for me the smell. I find the smell much stronger than most nail varnishes and as I said earlier it definitely takes more than a second to remove it. So if you have the money I would recommend this it’s not awfully expensive but not really what I’d call cheap either, its £4.99 at boots but if you are on a budget I would say stick to the quickies wipes or bottle stuff with some good ol’ cotton wool instead of buying a multiple products for the same job.

First Haul

Eeeek my first blogger haul, I'm very excited! Ok so I bought a pair of gorgeous shoes from AX-Paris, they're very classic, simple pointed stiletto, a must have staple. I also got earrings and a floral bracelet from forever 21. The earrings are gold with pastel colour stones which i think are great to add a bit of colour to an outfit (and the pastel colours are bang on trend for spring/summer 2012). I also picked up this great glitter nail varnish from Topshop, the official name is adrenalin. However my most exciting purchase is this six in a bag by cargo. It’s a solid black makeup bag (great for shoving in your handbag!) and contains 6 key pieces of makeup. The set includes a lip gloss, lip pencil, eyeliner, one base (concealer and foundation in one), cheek activator and a lash activator (AKA mascara). It also has a mirror and plenty of room for adding extras that you view as essential. And that’s all for this little haul, please comment and if anyone would like a review of any of the above let me know.
